A Sneak Peek of the Cover Story

Vol.1
Writer’s narrative
I first met Arissa at college, and long story short, we’re now closely acquainted. What I can tell you about her is that she’s our new (unofficial) model – and she’s an impressive one.
I’ve always pictured her as a face of beauty and fashion. Skilled in makeup, hardworking, knowledgeable, passionate, tall, beautiful, and more – and she doesn’t let me down. When first asked to model, she agreed immediately without hesitation; when the photo shoot happened, she proved to be beyond photogenic. She did admit her past dream job in modeling.
Arissa Sofeya is featured in the upcoming May issue.
(Possibly) the last part of this series. Hopefully not tho!
For this part, we have Pearl and Daisies, which has been featured on Eternally Chanel twice (not including this time).

Pearl and Daisies does not have a specific collection for Eid, but the founder has said, and I quote, “if, let’s say we don’t release Premium kurung, designed by our own (designers), we would still release kurung from When The Fantasy Meet Traditional collection”. This collection is, as the name suggests, the coalescence of dreamy fantasy and traditional kurung. The shades of the colors are so pretty. Lovely.

Peaceful vibes for Eid with this collection, I can already imagine. Shop or see more here!
Let me introduce you to Lebaran 2021 by Zoffya real quick.

The colors and the designs are vibrant, and totally cheerful. I don’t know if this makes sense but the collection sparks so much joy and positivity (you know what I mean, don’t you?). It feels like, if I see someone wear something from the collection, I’d feel happy immediately; that’s the major effect it has on people. The fact that it’s literally a family-friendly (and pregnancy-friendly) collection warms my heart too; I love it so much when any family including my own family has a particular Eid theme and wear the same color.

To continue the series, let’s talk about Minimalace.

This year, Minimalace has released not one, not two, but three collections exclusively for Eid: Kyra Raya 2021, Batika Raya, and Love Raya. If you ask me which one do I like most, I’d say Batika Raya (batik is so hot!). Nonetheless, Kyra Raya 2021 and Love Raya are so cute – especially the colors of many pieces from the two collections; they’re sweetly calming.

Hi! Welcome (back) to Eternally Chanel. I’m starting this new series, which is meant to let you know where to shop baju raya, because Eid is getting closer and closer, and I presume that a lot of people haven’t bought their baju raya yet.
Today, Gio Fabrics.

Gio Fabrics sells printed, plain, and lace apparel fabrics as well as ready-to-wear garments. To people who prefer to make their own clothes: You have to consider getting your fabrics from this store. The designs (prints and laces) are lovely. There is a variety of colors, too. Although I can’t decide if the price is tolerable or not, because I scarcely buy fabrics.
Below is an example of a (lace) fabric they sell, you can visit their website for more.

This year’s ready-made raya garments are baju kurung Kedah, baju kurung moden, baju kurung mini, dresses, and kebaya. They’re simple but bold – and the colors definitely make the outfits pop. If you’re looking forward to stand out this Eid, then Gio Fabrics is the one for you.

Above are two types of baju raya they sell. Kindly visit their website to shop and/or to see more options. In case you don’t do online shopping, they have physical stores you may go to:
I’m actually really glad to write this review. I appreciate it so much that Let’s Basil sent me a Thyme Tote Bag and plant seeds, from The Edible Collection: Thyme and Basil Tote Bags. Also, the founders of Let’s Basil (CK and Shanice) are among the sweetest people I’ve ever worked/collaborated with, and that makes me cherish the tote bag even more. I can’t possibly thank them enough for their kindness.
Let’s start the review. But first of all, I want to compliment the packaging. So cute! The bag was placed neatly in a cute box, in a courier flyer. There was no waste, as the packaging was simple.

There, a card and the bag inside the box, and the seeds taped on the lid.
Thyme Tote Bag is genuinely beautiful. I love the color, although the shade is actually slightly different than what is shown on the Instagram – it’s actually a lighter shade of bronze, whereas on the Instagram, it’s closer to orange-ish brown. But it’s okay, it must be the lighting effects.
On the bag, the prints say “Spend Thyme Together.” and “But hey, don’t forget to spend time with nature and adopt its simplicity and peace. #theediblecollection”. The font is felicitous and the arrangement is neat.
The material is surprisingly really good! I mean, I knew its composition is canvas but I didn’t expect its quality to be so good. I can now be sure that the bag is strong, durable and worth it – and I’m sure it can even carry my laptop + one thick book or two + purse + phone + emergency make-up + portable jewelry box bag all at the same time without being torn. The width is 44 cm, the height is 41 cm, and the weight of the bag is 0.3 kg. If you’re a fan of smaller bags (like me) maybe you won’t like to use this tote bag, but trust me, it’s so useful when you need to carry many things all at once. Also, additional information: the bag has an inside pocket for smaller items like keys, card holder etc.
I personally rate Thyme Tote Bag 10/10. Bonus points for the sustainability efforts and love for nature.
