You Know, I’m Currently Thinking About…

Maybe fairies do exist – they exist in the form of a fashion art, they exist to prettify humans.

My goodness, what’s to become of me without all the new waves of aestheticism? I couldn’t even imagine! Light academia, dark academia, kidcore, cottagecore, fairycore… Anyway, I’ve got a million things and more in my mind, but fairycore clothes being one of them totally boosts my serotonin. Things You Do That Will Drag Your Confidence to the Lowest

Everyone needs confidence to be able to see their own beauty, show themselves to the world, and rock any outfit, no matter how simple that outfit is. But maintaining confidence is as difficult as gaining confidence at first place.

You may not realize you’ve done something that leads to the decrease in self-esteem. Ready to learn about it? Eternally Chanel will highlight top ten things that drag your confidence to the lowest.

1. Attempting to look like other people

This is easily the easiest fashion mistake anyone could ever do. We all have desire to look like models, celebrities, Instabaddies, someone we idolize or even, someone we’re insecure about. While there’s possibilities that you might succeed and be happy doing this, you could lose yourself because of this – and then you can’t even go out as yourself anymore; you can’t wear your favorite clothes without thinking “Oh no, Gigi Hadid doesn’t wear something like these… if I want to keep looking pretty like her, I have to stop wearing these”, you can’t do something that makes you fully comfortable, you can’t have your own style. It contributes to more insecurities. You’d find it hard to stop attempting because you don’t think you look good as your actual self.

What if you don’t succeed at first try? Well, then, you’d already guess it – you’d hate your appearance so much. You’d feel awfully miserable. You’d feel like you’re so ugly compared to the person you’re copying (or inspired by). Of course, it would make your day rough if you keep thinking about how do you look.

Don’t do it. It’s okay to style your outfits based on any OOTD inspiration, whether it be Pinterest-inspired looks or anything else, but don’t pressure yourself to look like someone you’re not. You’re your own self, and you’re beautiful.

2. Participating in fashion trends you have no interest in

Head scarves are still in style in 2021

Not everyone likes the same things. Your own sister or best friend, may love the vintage head scarves trend, but you may not. You don’t have to force yourself to like every fashion trend, and importantly, you don’t have to try every fashion trend!

Participating in fashion trends you have no interest in could steal your charm away from you because of how passionless you are, resulting in you appear to be plain, boring, unattractive, and try-hard.

As much as how fun fashion trends are, you’re allowed to stay as far away as possible from the ones you despise. Being trendy is not a requirement for you to stay stunning, at all.

3. Wearing sizes that make you uncomfortable

You’re comfortable in clothes two times your size? Then wear them! You love wearing bodycon or bandage dresses? Why limit yourself, you can wear anything you want as long as it doesn’t reduce your confidence. Some people find beauty in more and some people find beauty in less, but most people find beauty in comfort. (I’m sorry if this rule doesn’t apply to Muslims, strict families, etc.)

4. Wearing too much makeup OR wearing little to no makeup

There’s no explanation. As women, we’re stereotyped as “always wear too much makeup and look ugly without it” – which is a very false stereotype, by the way.

You certainly doesn’t need to wear makeup if you don’t want to, and if you do want it, that’s not a problem too. I struggle with insecurity every time I don’t wear makeup, so I always make sure to do simple makeup before going out – but if I put on too much makeup, I’d still be insecure. There are women who are the exact opposite of me, they feel insecure wearing the littlest of makeup and feel the absolute best in more makeup. There are also women who don’t want to wear makeup at all. All of us are valid and beautiful no matter what. Just do whatever makes you confident and powerful, okay?

5. Wearing wrong outfits at the wrong occasions

You can’t wear colorful gown at a funeral or a plain tee with jeans at a fancy-themed party. Perhaps you can if you really want to, but if you’re not a fearless person, doing this will make you feel stupid.

6. Being scared to express your real self

Let’s say you’re going out to have some fun with your friends and you’ve already planned to wear a black shirt with a red leather jacket, black leather pants, and red knee high boots. You know you’d look so good wearing them. But then you think your friends would judge you so you wear the black shirt with a skinny jeans and white sneakers instead.

Do you think you’d really be satisfied with the new outfits?

Or let’s say you wear what you planned anyway but you keep being scared if people would criticize you. Isn’t that exhausting? Stop doubting yourself and start being confidence with your style.

7. Trying something new blindly

There’s nothing wrong with trying something new, but if you try it without really thinking, it could be something you’d regret. You may think other people look so cute with their puff sleeves or look really great wearing tractor-inspired boots that you forget to consider if those fashion items go well with your personal styles and the vibe you radiate.

The puff sleeve trend in 2021

If you insist, of course, you can try. I’m not saying you can’t, I’m just saying it is able to lower your confidence.

8. Wearing unironed and low quality clothes

The unironed situation happens to me all the time. My family is always like, “Let’s go out!” when I haven’t prepared a single thing and don’t even want to go out. Most of my best tops are the ones that obviously have to be ironed or else they’d make me look like a lazy person. I’m thankful I was often still able to look good with my unironed clothes, but during the time it happened I felt really unsure. Totally ruined my mood and confidence.

And the low quality clothes? Totally uncomfortable, totally makes you feel irritated and itchy, and after a few cleaning they’d look unpleasant. You don’t ever want to wear those in public.

9. Wearing dark clothes in the dark

Dark clothes in the dark would basically hide you from all the possible attentions and focuses. A good option if you don’t want to socialize, but a bad choice if you want people to look at you. So, what confidence do you expect to have when no one (probably including yourself) can’t take a proper look at you?

10. No jewelry and no handbag

You can get a lot of jewelry and handbag inspos from Pinterest and Instagram

Wearing no jewelry and taking no handbag with you don’t actually drag your confidence to the lowest, but having them on will absolutely improve the way you look at yourself and makes you act more confident.

The most beautiful thing you can wear is confidence.

Rosé’s ‘On The Ground’ Outfits Appreciation

Blackpink’s Roseanne Park Chae Young, better known as Rosé, the main vocalist of the sensational K-pop girl group, has had her single On The Ground music video premiered 18 hours ago on Blackpink’s official Youtube account. In less than 24 hours, the music video has gotten 34 million views and might reach more.

The talented singer wore a number of outfits in her music video, and each one of them enhanced her beauty even more. Let’s take a good look at every outfit.

  • Off-shoulder split thigh hot-pink maxi gown

That gown is absolutely stunning and tempting. I’ve tried to find it and the closest I get is the dress below from Shein. The price is as low as US$20.00 + tax (RM82.37 + tax) and the available sizes are XS to L. I can’t find a hot pink one but lilac looks pretty cute though.

Rosé also wore a plain black scarf – and although I don’t think I’m sure what material exactly was it made of, I know you can get a lot of similar ones from numerous shops, small businesses included. The shoes she was wearing were black lace-up platform boots (possibly leather) without heels. Again, Shein sell those too, but you may find better options.

The jacket she was wearing in the cover of the music video is a cropped leather jacket. I failed to get a better look at it, so I can’t suggest any seller and I’m so sorry for that. However, you may find very similar ones on Amazon and Shein.

  • All-black outfits

  • Silver sequin fit-and-flare short dress

I have no enough words to describe how cute Rosé looked in this one. But let’s just go ahead and see if we can find this dress anywhere.

Yes, it’s the closest I can find. It’s from Storenvy and the price is $175.35 (RM722.09). I don’t think it’s worth spending that much money on a little dress, but well, do whatever you will with this information.

  • White sequin feather party dress

Upon my word! Miss Rosé was a vision in this memorable dress.

I’m disappointed I can’t find something alike – not even in the slightest. I guess I have to do more research. But if you insist on getting it, there are many feather dresses in other designs that are sold in every platform – Shein, Amazon, Aliexpress, Wish, and small businesses too. The prices vary based on the designs and the materials, I guess.

Next.

  • Blue puffy gown with leather belt and black bomber jacket

  • White printed crop top and black shorts with purple feather coat

  • White shirt with soft grey feather coat

And last but not least,

  • Pink plaid puffy layered short dress

She looked magnificently lovely in the last dress, oh my. One of the dreamiest dresses ever.

Members of Blackpink have always dressed dashingly in their music videos, interviews, shows, concerts, and basically everywhere they go. Good job to their stylists. Anyway, congratulations to Rosé on her debut solo album R. Eternally Chanel wishes the best for her and Blackpink.

‘House of Gucci’ Recently Puts Lady Gaga and Adam Driver in the Spotlight

An upcoming American biographical crime film directed by Ridley Scott which is set to be released on November 24, 2021 features A Star is Born‘s star Lady Gaga and The Last Jedi‘s star Adam Driver as Patrizia Reggani and Maurizio Gucci respectively. Titled House of Gucci, the film is based on the 2001 book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden, which follows the assassination of Gucci founder’s grandson, Maurizio Gucci, the trial and conviction of his ex-wife, Patrizia Reggani, who eventually spent 18 years in prison.

Lady Gaga has never really left the spotlight throughout her successful career, but after posting a picture of herself with Adam Driver on the set of House of Gucci, both the actor and the actress draws even more attention from the public. The post captioned “Signore e Signora Gucci #HouseOfGucci” has gotten 4 million likes in two days.

Eternally Chanel wishes the best for House of Gucci, the cast, and the production team. Hopefully this film will do well in the box office and win the awards it deserves. Can’t wait for more teasers and trailers!

Reviewing FW 21/22, Part III

This is the continuation of ‘REVIEWING FW 21/22 FASHION SHOWS!‘ and ‘REVIEWING FW 21/22, PART II‘. This is also the last part of the series.

  • LOUIS VUITTON

One of the monarchs of the fashion industry, Louis Vuitton has gotten hatred for its price and designs but unsurprisingly, it earns even more love and keeps thriving under Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH). In 2021, the company’s net worth is $130 Billion.

Louis Vuitton mainly gains recognition for the bags and is rarely mentioned for its clothing. That’s not the only issue – its fashion shows barely gets any hype either, compared to Chanel’s, Gucci’s, Versace’s, and Dolce and Gabbana’s.

I watched the entirety of Women’s Fall-Winter 2021 LV Fashion Show and played the same video over and over again to form a truly fair opinions on it. Anyone who knows me personally, knows that I was eager to see the whole collection days before the video was premiered – but the feeling went away after I watched it once, and the next few times I watched it, it didn’t cloud my judgment. Now, let’s review the show, shall we?

While Givenchy featured the monochrome combinations of faux fur and leather textures and Dior featured a number of breathtaking bright dresses and dark dresses, LV featured a colorful and heavy-with-patterns collection – and although it’s not an unfamiliar gesture in the fashion industry, some people might still find it rather peculiar, but I find it refreshing. It’s fun, expressive, and breaking the rules of what ‘decent fashion’ should look like. There shouldn’t be a ‘normal vs. abnormal’ concept in fashion – fashion is supposed to be the art of expressing oneself. A good fashion should have creativity and innovations.

What about the relevancy and versatility? Well, in my opinion, I believe people who work in a creative industry would wear these; perhaps not everything from this collection, but some of them, at least. The outfits can be worn not only in the coldness of fall and winter but (arguably) can also be worn in spring and summer. Most of them genuinely look comfortable too. Most importantly, they really embody the charms of Louis Vuitton. Bravo, Nicolas Ghesquière, bravo!

The first look from LVFW21 collection
The last look from LVFW21 collection

I also like that Ghesquière talked in the opening to offer his gratitude. That’s sweet of him, making his team, collaborators, and viewers feel appreciated.

The Louvre, France

Thank you for filming the show at Michelangelo Gallery at the Louvre Museum, such a picturesque setting. The models were literally surrounded by arts (and not to mention, they are art themselves) and the whole show is indeed a pure art. What do you get when you add an art to arts? You’d get beauty beyond compare and happiness.

The lighting, whether it was solely daylight or there were added lighting to the set, is actually a relief. I’ve seen Givenchy, Dior, and Chanel in the darkness. When I saw how bright Louis Vuitton’s show was, I was really delighted. Viewers can actually see the clothes, the shoes, the bags. Having said that, the models’ walk is not that great – while viewers can still see the outfits, it may or may not be easy to see the details. The models’ facial expressions are just alright.

The music spoils the mood, I’m so sorry. The whole show gives off a fresh Parisian air but the music is… not it. Classical music would’ve worked oddly better.

Overall the show is endearing, although, I trust there is room for improvements, as I believe in Ghesquière’s potential. Kudos to Ghesquière, kudos to his team, kudos to his collaborators, kudos to Louis Vuitton.

10/10 from Eternally Chanel.

Can’t wait to see what the future has in store specifically for Paris Fashion Week, fashion companies, and designers. All that’s left to be said about the past Paris Fashion Weeks: they were spectacular.

Reviewing FW 21/22, Part II

This is a continuation of ‘REVIEWING FW 21/22 FASHION SHOWS!.

Paris Fashion Week, taking place from 1 March 2021 to 10 March 2021 for Womenswear Ready-to-Wear Fall-Winter 2021/2022 collections, opened with Institut Français de la Mode’s short fashion film and closed with Louis Vuitton’s full show. After Dior’s ‘Disturbing Beauty’ collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri (which I reviewed in a previous post), 15 other designers showcased theirs – and two of them are Virginie Viard from Chanel and Nicolas Ghesquière from Louis Vuitton.

The public has always had high expectations for the world’s leading fashion houses, and the reasons are pretty obvious. Founded in 1910, Chanel’s timeless designs keep the label successful even after a century and more, while Louis Vuitton, founded in 1854, produces high-end luxury goods that cause it to be one of the most valuable fashion brands of 2020-2021. But are their latest collections and performances in Paris Fashion Week interesting enough, or are they disappointing?

  • CHANEL
One of the final shots in the Fall-Winter 2021/22 Ready-to-Wear Chanel Show

Before watching the full show, I didn’t know what to expect; I was really excited, yet really nervous. Chanel’s shows were some of the few I actually cared to watch repeatedly, as I knew I would never get tired of doing so. However, I hesitated for their FW 21/22 show, probably because I had a fear they would dissatisfy me.

After watching the full show, I have so little yet so many to say.

First and foremost, I am upset by the black-and-white filter. Don’t get me wrong, such concept is so cool – makes viewers feel like they’re watching a 1950s film (and I love 1950s films!), but, be that as it may, it makes it hard for viewers to judge and appreciate Virginie Viard’s designs. I’m thankful the production team quickly redeemed themselves by removing the black-and-white filter from plenty of shots, really, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s practically confusing. You see the blazer is lilac but after four seconds it is grey, and although you know it’s because of the filter, your distracted subconscious mind will quickly forget what color is that blazer supposed to be, especially when there are a lot of outfits you have to look at. It’s good though that Chanel tried something new.

I like that the shots from behind the scenes are included. Seems simple but it’s a cute gesture.

Behind the scenes of the Fall-Winter 2021/22 Chanel Show

Next, the outfits and bags. I love them, they’re effortless beauty. Classy, elegant, timeless arts, totally Chanel-ish. You come across someone wearing those pieces and at first glance you could already tell they’re by Chanel, even if you haven’t watched the show or seen the lookbook. But, however much I love them, I must admit I’ve seen the same designs before. While a number of them are, well, exclusive, half of them aren’t; I’ve seen a lot of them, either scarily similar or very scarily similar. I’m sorry, Virginie, but this particular collection of yours isn’t refreshing. Beautiful designs, and I’m sure with a little more efforts, this Fall-Winter Ready-to-Wear will be so much better.

A piece from the Fall-Winter 2021/22 collection
A piece from the Fall-Winter 2021/22 collection
A piece from the Fall-Winter 2021/22 collection

Someone questioned the relevancy of this collection and assumed in two years, people would not wear this kind of clothes anymore. I have taken some time to think about this and finally disagreed. As I said earlier, pieces from this collection are timeless beauty, like Coco Chanel’s designs. Virginie Viard knew what she was doing. Her Fall-Winter designs may not be groundbreaking, but she would never forget to create a timeless fashion art. Fur coats, suits, little dresses – I don’t think they ever die.

Moreover, the versatility is undeniable. Personally I would wear something from this collection anywhere and everywhere in every season instead of only fall and winter – even in the rising heat of summer (indoors, of course), and I know there are many other people in the world who would do the same.

Now, to talk about the performances – I’d always applaud Chanel’s models. The fact that this show includes women-of-color and a woman who is not super skinny warms my heart. The way all the stunning models walk and their facial expressions are among my favorite things about this show. Their makeup and hairstyles are divine. And, their smiles and interactions with each other behind the scenes? Perfection. The music used in this show? Also perfection. Do You Know Where You’re Going To by Diana Ross is lovely; it’s certainly a great selection made by Chanel.

An Asian model walking down the runway

Chanel often picks the best places too to be their runways. For this show, they filmed it in the streets and in the Parisian club Castel. It may not seem so creative, but I personally find it’s suitable and aesthetically pleasing for the atmosphere and vibe Virginie Viard’s designs give off.

Kudos to Virginie Viard, kudos to everyone who is responsible for the collection, the show, the cinematography, and the production. I, however, expect to see something better in the future.

This is so difficult to give a rating, but I’m doing it anyway. 8/10 from Eternally Chanel.

My Personal Favorite Handbags

A woman can never have too many handbags, but if you’re good at purchasing the right bags, less can be more, which means you’d never have to buy new ones every month (unless you choose to and can afford it, and that’s alright!). Remember the power handbags hold: they’re game-changing, really, particularly when you’ve done a great selection and combination with your outfits-of-the-day.

As planned, I’m discussing my personal favorite handbags; the ones I owned, the ones I haven’t, and the ones in my wishlist. To repeat myself, these are my personal favorites and I definitely won’t pressure you into liking them. It would certainly be nice if you can analyze my choices and decided for yourself the qualities you want in your dream bags. I will still state my recommendations, without making it forceful. Now, let’s dive right into it.

  • Any Louis Vuitton

Sure, there has been a heated debate about the quality of LV bags – and any LV item in general. I basically agree to disagree that LV’s are overpriced. I don’t work with LVMH at all, I don’t watch their manufacturing process, I’m not acquainted with someone who work with the fashion house. My principle is, if I don’t know the whole truth about something, I refuse to cavil about it. I refuse to waste my time defending it either.

I own an LV monogram bag which is years old, has been taken to many places including Paris, yet until this very moment, it’s still in an acceptably excellent condition. I could fill it with so many things and no matter how heavy it is supposed to feel when I hold it, not only does it not break, it also feels just right hanging onto my arm; unlike some cheap bags I’ve used, which feels irritating even with not many things inside it.

To anyone who really intends to have an LV handbag or purse but worry about spending money excessively, I suggest you buy the one that is pre-owned. The quality is almost as equally good as new, given that LV bags are really long-lasting.

  • Stella McCartney’s Small Chunky Chain Bag

The designer of Meghan Markle’s wedding reception dress deserves respect and admiration for her efforts in eco-fashion and establishing her name as a creator of sustainable luxury fashion for nearly twenty years. Her brand is ethical and cruelty-free. Although I was not always very fond of her designs, Stella McCartney’s classy Small Chunky Chain Bag caught my eyes immediately.

Women’s White Small Chunky Chain Bag

It says on the website, “Composition – Main Material: 67% Polyurethane 33% Polyester. Lining: 60% Polyamide, 40% Polyurethane”. Also, “Do not machine wash, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron, do not dry clean, clean with a damp cloth”.  Size: 22.6x14x9 cm and weighs approximately 0.58kg.

And it’s affordable! Less than € 1000, which is an agreeable price. This cute bag is in my wishlist as we speak. Perhaps, if you are against animal-cruelty, you, too, should adore Stella and support her brand (just a polite suggestion).

  • Charles & Keith’s Pearl-Embellished Crossbody Bag

I own this bag, the Valentine-day edition. I’m sure it is my first (affordable) luxury bag ever. I bought it for myself because I obviously don’t have a boyfriend. Such a sweet gesture for my own self, I’m aware – because self-love is important, is it not? Anyway, the pricing for CK goods never fails to confound me. CK bags and shoes are exquisite, sophisticated, high in quality, and looks fairly expensive. I’m grateful CK exists. CK helps women (and men alike) to be charming without spending too much.

Pink Pearl-Embellished Crossbody Bag

The material is faux leather, if anyone wonders.

Most handbags and by CK are my favorites but I only write specifically about Pearl-Embellished Crossbody Bag because of its significant value, and because I need at least 168 hours to finish writing about this amazing Singaporean brand.

  • Saint Laurent’s Sunset Mono Crossbody Bag

Every time I come across the photos of any YSL bag, I can’t stop reminding myself to get successful and rich so I could buy as many as possible – and Sunset Mono Crossbody Bag is not an exception, it is a priority.

White Sunset Mono Crossbody Bag

Probably, the thing I love the most about YSL bags is its simplicity and minimalism. Fashion items don’t need to always be fancy to look good. In fact, sometimes, the simplest outfits can make their wearers look so much better than the fanciest outfits.

  • Dolce & Gabbana’s Box Bags

Last but not least, DG … oh my goodness, just thinking about them makes me lose my breath. Photos below can elucidate this obsession.

Rosaria-Crystal Embellished Box Bag
White Embellished Convertible Leather Clutch
Dolce Box Regine Bag

The designs make me want to scream “Take my money!” because really, who in the world would resist such beauty?

Enchanted Clock Box Bag

Simply irresistible, and, without a doubt, expensive – but it’s understandable, no need for explanation because the designs say enough words.

Mother-of-Pearl with jewel embroidery
Dolce Box Bag in resin with embroidered flowers
Dolce Box Bag in tropea straw with embroidery

Apparently Mother-of-Pearl, Dolce Box Bag in resin and Dolce Box Bag in tropea straw are not costly. Well, into my wishlist they go.

To be fair, I honestly don’t see the versatility in DG designs, and to me it seems like they would only look acceptable with proper gowns or blouses. Moreover, they seem like they break easily. I don’t wish to recommend them to anyone at all, and I only wish to buy them for myself (wait, why does that sound quite selfish?).

Disclaimer, before I end this post: It’s perfectly fine to buy bags from small businesses instead of famous companies. Charles & Keith sells inexpensive fashion merchandises, but if you prefer cheaper, go for it and don’t let anyone shame you for that.

At the end of the day, I’m fully concerned that the bags above go well with my style, and that they may or may not work with everyone else. I shared facts and my thoughts on each bag, and now you ought to consider what type of bag(s) you will invest in to complete your everyday look. Perhaps by and by I might share detailed guidelines for you to know your real style better – that will help you to decide the right bag(s) for yourself. Oh, and, a little head start: “Fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it”.

Reviewing FW 21/22 Fashion Shows!

This year, delightfully, Paris Fashion Week serves us the beauty and uniqueness of Fall-Winter Ready-to-Wear collections by our beloved designers as they do every year. Despite a global pandemic still going on, fashion will not cease, and Paris Fashion Week is a solid evidence of that. Marine Serre, Nina Ricci, Vivienne Westwood, Hermès, Givenchy, Christian Dior, and many more fashion companies have brought so much magic to life through their respective captivating fashion films or shows – but the ones that I personally can’t stop thinking about are Givenchy and Dior – hence I’m elated to share my reviews and (possibly a little biased) opinions on these notable luxury brands.

Before I continue, I must clarify: I will absolutely try to be largely unbiased – nothing against anyone or anything and there’s absolutely zero prejudice on my part; I simply favor the first a little bit more than the latter. Anyway, let’s get started.

  • GIVENCHY

Givenchy has always had a special place in my heart, and it is not only due to its rendition of elegance, sophistication and femininity, but rather because of the way it reminds me of my favorite actress, the Hollywood legend, Audrey Hepburn. Hubert de Givenchy was Hepburn’s favorite designer as he was her close friend and also the man who was responsible of turning her into a style legend and a fashion icon. “His are the only clothes in which I am myself. He is far more than a couturier, he is a creator of personality,” said Hepburn.

Audrey Hepburn wearing Givenchy in ‘Funny Face’

Founded in 1952, not only did Givenchy inspire Hepburn, his designs inspired other women and men alike continually. Today, Givenchy is still remarkable for being one of the original top-designer brands.

There’s just something so mysterious yet so alluring about Givenchy Fall Winter 2021/22 show. The opening is out of this world, I’m not even overexaggerating. They did a great job with the whole setting (and music, too).

Honestly, all-black fits are such a brilliant way to start a show. I’d kill to have a black fit from Givenchy. Also, the models are so beautiful, oh my! Thank you for the racial diversity, Givenchy.

And the white fits are so cute. I mean, look!

I’m going to be honest with one thing: I don’t really like the way those models walk. Too fast..? But, of course, it’s a known fact that models walk differently for different brands. I feel like it’s actually fitting with the whole concept.

Next, I have never been genuinely impressed with men’s collection, but now I am. As L’Officiel USA said, and I quote, “…Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 2021 show highlighted (Matthew) Williams’ talent for stylish sportswear.” Williams elevated the sportswear influences and created a series of luxurious garments that celebrate a youthful excess by the union of faux fur and leather textures.

Givenchy menswear

Kudos to Matthew Williams and everyone who made the show happen. I won’t say this is one of the best fashion shows of all time, but it deserves praises and recognition.

10/10 from Eternally Chanel.

  • CHRISTIAN DIOR

I just don’t think I can find the right words to describe Dior show. The title is ‘Disturbing Beauty’, and I’m sure that tells you everything you need to know. It’s peculiarly mesmerizing. It’s not your typical fashion cinematography – it’s so much more than that. It’s eerie but in a beautiful way, and really leaves you wondering.

Live streamed at Paris Fashion Week from the Palace of Versailles, Dior gives you an illusion that the palace was not meant for royal, but rather, for vampires, evil fairies, and vengeful ghosts (who were wrongly murdered). Although the ending gives me an evil princess/queen vibe who lives in regret for the rest of her life.

The model who ends the show

The collection is indeed beautiful, I can’t pick my favorite look. Dior has always caught my attention and been in my wishlist, but the ones from ‘Disturbing Beauty’ is a whole different story.

The models are charming, the lighting is perfect, the music – gives me chills every time I hear it, really. Maria Grazia Chiuri’s mind is phenomenal. Kudos to her and everyone who worked with her.

Sadly for me, the show is not as enjoyable as Givenchy show is. And I really have nothing more to say about it. All that’s left to be said is, I admire Dior and this collection in particular. I personally rate Dior AW 2021-2022 a solid 9/10.
