As you know, the combination of PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is the theme of this Eid (and generally, the whole 2021).

So, there you go – if you have no idea on what color to wear this Eid, wear Ultimate Gray and Illuminating. You may also tell your family, close friends, or beloved ones to match up one another. If you have already planned something else, it’s okay, stick with your plans. Theme isn’t necessarily a rule.
Anyway, here are my predictions of Eid 2021 fashion trends (in Malaysia):
- Pleated shawls and satin/silk scarves are in style, and will continue to be very popular during Eid.
- Most, if not all baju raya are lightweight and have simple designs.
- Little or none of patterns/prints on women’s baju raya, and the ones that do have heavy patterns are floral-themed.
- Modern kurung is the main focus – and there are many different silhouettes of kurung presented by Malaysian designers.
- Patterned kurta is the main target for men (either visibly patterned or subtly patterned).
- Aside from the theme colors (Ultimate Gray and Illuminating), most possible popular colors are pastels.
- Nothing can be said about accessories (yet), but I assume crossbody bags (which are currently in style) and block heels will be the trend.
Also here’s a reminder that my predictions may be inaccurate, and I apologize in advance. They’re solely based on current trends, my observations of Instagram boutiques, and my interpretations of Malaysian fashion designers’ creations.
If you want to start shopping, well, happy shopping! Just don’t forget your responsibilities in Ramadan, okay?
