A woman can never have too many handbags, but if you’re good at purchasing the right bags, less can be more, which means you’d never have to buy new ones every month (unless you choose to and can afford it, and that’s alright!). Remember the power handbags hold: they’re game-changing, really, particularly when you’ve done a great selection and combination with your outfits-of-the-day.
As planned, I’m discussing my personal favorite handbags; the ones I owned, the ones I haven’t, and the ones in my wishlist. To repeat myself, these are my personal favorites and I definitely won’t pressure you into liking them. It would certainly be nice if you can analyze my choices and decided for yourself the qualities you want in your dream bags. I will still state my recommendations, without making it forceful. Now, let’s dive right into it.
- Any Louis Vuitton
Sure, there has been a heated debate about the quality of LV bags – and any LV item in general. I basically agree to disagree that LV’s are overpriced. I don’t work with LVMH at all, I don’t watch their manufacturing process, I’m not acquainted with someone who work with the fashion house. My principle is, if I don’t know the whole truth about something, I refuse to cavil about it. I refuse to waste my time defending it either.
I own an LV monogram bag which is years old, has been taken to many places including Paris, yet until this very moment, it’s still in an acceptably excellent condition. I could fill it with so many things and no matter how heavy it is supposed to feel when I hold it, not only does it not break, it also feels just right hanging onto my arm; unlike some cheap bags I’ve used, which feels irritating even with not many things inside it.
To anyone who really intends to have an LV handbag or purse but worry about spending money excessively, I suggest you buy the one that is pre-owned. The quality is almost as equally good as new, given that LV bags are really long-lasting.

- Stella McCartney’s Small Chunky Chain Bag
The designer of Meghan Markle’s wedding reception dress deserves respect and admiration for her efforts in eco-fashion and establishing her name as a creator of sustainable luxury fashion for nearly twenty years. Her brand is ethical and cruelty-free. Although I was not always very fond of her designs, Stella McCartney’s classy Small Chunky Chain Bag caught my eyes immediately.

It says on the website, “Composition – Main Material: 67% Polyurethane 33% Polyester. Lining: 60% Polyamide, 40% Polyurethane”. Also, “Do not machine wash, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron, do not dry clean, clean with a damp cloth”. Size: 22.6x14x9 cm and weighs approximately 0.58kg.
And it’s affordable! Less than € 1000, which is an agreeable price. This cute bag is in my wishlist as we speak. Perhaps, if you are against animal-cruelty, you, too, should adore Stella and support her brand (just a polite suggestion).
- Charles & Keith’s Pearl-Embellished Crossbody Bag
I own this bag, the Valentine-day edition. I’m sure it is my first (affordable) luxury bag ever. I bought it for myself because I obviously don’t have a boyfriend. Such a sweet gesture for my own self, I’m aware – because self-love is important, is it not? Anyway, the pricing for CK goods never fails to confound me. CK bags and shoes are exquisite, sophisticated, high in quality, and looks fairly expensive. I’m grateful CK exists. CK helps women (and men alike) to be charming without spending too much.

The material is faux leather, if anyone wonders.
Most handbags and by CK are my favorites but I only write specifically about Pearl-Embellished Crossbody Bag because of its significant value, and because I need at least 168 hours to finish writing about this amazing Singaporean brand.
- Saint Laurent’s Sunset Mono Crossbody Bag
Every time I come across the photos of any YSL bag, I can’t stop reminding myself to get successful and rich so I could buy as many as possible – and Sunset Mono Crossbody Bag is not an exception, it is a priority.

Probably, the thing I love the most about YSL bags is its simplicity and minimalism. Fashion items don’t need to always be fancy to look good. In fact, sometimes, the simplest outfits can make their wearers look so much better than the fanciest outfits.
- Dolce & Gabbana’s Box Bags
Last but not least, DG … oh my goodness, just thinking about them makes me lose my breath. Photos below can elucidate this obsession.

The designs make me want to scream “Take my money!” because really, who in the world would resist such beauty?

Simply irresistible, and, without a doubt, expensive – but it’s understandable, no need for explanation because the designs say enough words.

Apparently Mother-of-Pearl, Dolce Box Bag in resin and Dolce Box Bag in tropea straw are not costly. Well, into my wishlist they go.
To be fair, I honestly don’t see the versatility in DG designs, and to me it seems like they would only look acceptable with proper gowns or blouses. Moreover, they seem like they break easily. I don’t wish to recommend them to anyone at all, and I only wish to buy them for myself (wait, why does that sound quite selfish?).
Disclaimer, before I end this post: It’s perfectly fine to buy bags from small businesses instead of famous companies. Charles & Keith sells inexpensive fashion merchandises, but if you prefer cheaper, go for it and don’t let anyone shame you for that.
At the end of the day, I’m fully concerned that the bags above go well with my style, and that they may or may not work with everyone else. I shared facts and my thoughts on each bag, and now you ought to consider what type of bag(s) you will invest in to complete your everyday look. Perhaps by and by I might share detailed guidelines for you to know your real style better – that will help you to decide the right bag(s) for yourself. Oh, and, a little head start: “Fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it”.
